The Process:
- A barrel of wine yields 240 of the industry standard 750 ml bottles of wine (20 cases of 12 bottles each).
- The process takes approximately nine months from the time the grapes arrive into the winery until it is final bottled after the aging process in 200 liter American oak barrels.
- There are four “hands on” steps where members of your group will complete the necessary tasks to convert the juice from hand-picked grapes into wine.
- Each step will take approximately 1 hour to complete, but the pre and post production activities usually find our winemakers spending two to three hours in the winery social areas enjoying the atmosphere and the camaraderie of other winemakers. Winemakers are encouraged to bring food and wine to enjoy before and after their assigned production time.
